the day we turned into 'those parents'

for almost three years we've kept you away from soda.
we drink it like fiends [oh dr pepper how i miss you!] but usually don't give you any.
then we had a second child and sleep deprivation set in and we had a moment of weakness.
i thought for sure you wouldn't want any of my root beer- you typically don't like anything but milk and water- so i offered you some and you accepted.
and that was that.

all day long you nursed that cup of root beer as we walked around the phoenix zoo.
we've always told you soda was 'yuckie' as a way to discourage you from wanting some.
so that's what you called it and hearing you say 'more yuckie please!' made us chuckle.

let this mark the downfall of our parenting.

at least you were hydrated right?

pretty sure root beer is 99% water.
