so excited to see you [via ultrasound] on thursday.

we need to have some testing done to make sure you're doing ok since you didn't appear to grow these last 2 weeks.

hopefully i'm to blame and not you.

hopefully it's just genetics and i'm simply incapable of growing chunky babies.

hopefully you're healthy and perfect and all's well.

we're all growing very impatient to meet you.

and hopefully you come out soon because i'm getting quite sick of the constant heartburn.

i promise i was going to go to church today.
i know i always struggle to get there when you're working.
i hate going alone, it's lonely.
but seriously, i was going to go today.
cross my heart.

i was showered, had already put dinner in the crock pot [lime chicken!] and was doing my make-up when i heard it--
the sick cough from peanut.
not the dry fake cough she's famous for.
but a gross cough and then came the boogies.
i'll stop the description there because bb's very pregnant, reads this blog and has a sensitive gag reflex.
[sorry if you're gagging sis]

let's just say i thought it better to stay home.
i thought back to when we were in charge of the nursery and parents would bring their sick ones to us.
we always looked at each other dumbfounded.
'are people really that stupid?' we'd ask each other.
it turns out, yep, they are that dumb.
and now i'm one of them.
i really considered taking her despite the cough and boogies just because i wanted to go.
selfish much?

so now i'm skipping church, blogging and listening to peanut cough.
she's supposed to be sleeping but is struggling to fall asleep.
poor thing.


ok, well that's the update for today.
i hope you get a chance to check the blog while you work.

haven't you always wondered what diaper cream tastes like?

Nana-

if it's pictures you want, then it's pictures you'll get.

i haven't synced my camera or phone in a few days so here's what i've been hoarding and not sharing:

you know when you're toddler goes into stealth mode she's doing something wrong...

i found her in the bathroom eating desitin cream.

and no i didn't stop her because i wanted some photos first.

love that my kid picks the expensive fruit to love.

she ate half the carton for dinner.

kate's awesome mohawk post-nap.

this must have been a day when she actually slept.

today she fake-napped for 40 minutes.

not cool.

i need at least 90 minutes to recharge for the afternoon.

or "round 2" as i like to call it.

she thinks she's hilarious.

i agree.

"i just need to rest my eyes for a sec" he said at 8 o'clock

he asked me to wake him in 20 minutes.

i didn't and he hasn't stirred since.

(he'll thank me in the morning)

ps. remember when i was just a little tyke and i had that really annoying high, screechy voice? i fear katers inherited it. she LOVES to shriek. pretty sure the downstairs neighbors loathe us. just you wait...... see you in 2 weeks!

hey there birthday boy....


it's ok that i'm a day late because birthdays last all month in the jancer household.
so HAPPY BIRTHMONTH love!!

it's a good thing we get to celebrate all month because nov 1st wasn't such a good day-
you started one of your busiest rotations.
you forgot your surgery shoes and spent all day in your dress shoes.
you only ate one taco for lunch and you had to eat it in 10 seconds.
you only got to see peanut for 30 minutes.


at least you got to play with other people's boobs yesterday.
maybe that makes up for all the bad things???
i sure hope so.

i just had my wedding prints scanned and put on a cd. 

now i can share that day with all the world...

peach days in brigham city

not much in my life these days is a guarantee. each day is filled with change. kate grows before my eyes and learns new things. today she asked for a banana. actually said "nana?" and then ate it...well, some of it. but still. it was awesome. 

but there are a few things that stay constant. your love being the greatest stabilizer i know. i can count on being able to climb onto your lap and snuggle into my spot and tell you all my worries. you hold me and tell me things i need to hear. you handle my feelings with tenderness and patience and never make me feel stupid... even when i know i'm being stupid. 

you're not a perfect man. as i type this my arm keeps hitting your stack of papers that threaten to topple over and knock down 2 half empty soda bottles. sigh. you're just a tad on the messy side mr jancer. 

you pile, i file. 

but i will gladly live amongst your piles if that means you will take me on sunday drives and daydream with me about our future. and i will definitely overlook the messes if you make a habit of asking me "can we make a chocolate cake?" like you did tonight.

i'm a lucky girl.

i put away all the nintendo controllers so kate can't strangle herself anymore. now what will she do for fun???
